Branded face masks to show that you care!

Masks should be used as part of a complete plan of action to prevent COVID-19 transmission and save lives; wearing a mask alone will not provide enough protection against COVID-19.

Stay safe if COVID-19 is spreading in your community by using basic precautions like physical separation, wearing a mask, keeping rooms properly aired, avoiding crowds, hand washing, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. Inquire about local guidance in the area where you live and work.

Make wearing a mask a natural aspect of social interactions. However, to make masks as effective as possible, they must be used, stored, cleaned, and disposed of properly.

Here's how to put on a mask properly:

  • Clean your hands before putting on your mask, before and after removing it, and every time you touch it.
  • Make sure your nose, mouth, and chin are all covered.
  • When you remove a mask, place it in a clean plastic bag and wash it every day if it's a fabric mask, or throw it away if it's a medical mask.
  • Valves should not be used with masks.

Face masks are becoming an essential component of our everyday routines as we learn to embrace the "new normal." So why not have fun with them? Leave the disposables to our brave first responders and arm yourself with something long-lasting, reusable, and uniquely yours.

Which mask should I use?

According to the MOH, surgical masks or reusable masks composed of at least two cloth layers are suitable for face coverings.

According to the government, reusable masks such as those given by the People's Association and the Temasek Foundation have high filtering performance.

Fabric masks with at least two to three layers When held up to the light, the material should not be see-through.

A water-repellent outside layer, a middle filter layer to eliminate particles (this can be disposable filter inserts), and an absorbent inner coating to absorb drips from the wearer's lips should all be manufactured using different textiles.

-Select materials that are more effective at filtering and have sufficient permeability to allow for breathing.

How do you remove your mask?

Disposable masks and fabric masks are both available. Stretch the ear loops and tuck the outer corners together after untying the strings behind your head.

Follow the manufacturer's directions while using a respirator.

To remove the fabric mask, the man pulls the ear loops and folds the mask's outside corners together, so the inside faces out.

For fabric masks that can be reused

Place your damp or soiled cloth mask in a tight plastic bag until you can wash it. It will not go moldy as a result of this.

  • If your cloth mask is dry and clean, you may keep it clean between uses by storing it in a ventilated bag (such as a paper or mesh fabric bag).
  • Cloth masks should be washed at least once a day or if they become damp or soiled. Your masks may be washed and dried by hand or in a washer and dryer.
  • Wash or sterilize your hands after removing any masks.

Remove your mask while eating or drinking.

If you're eating or drinking outside of the house, put your mask in a safe location to keep it clean, such as your pocket, handbag, or paper bag. Replace the mask with the same side facing out after eating. Make sure you wash or sterilize your hands again after removing your mask and putting it back on.

When should you discard or replace your mask?

  • Disposable masks should be discarded after one use.
  • If you use respirators, read the manufacturer's instructions to see how long you may wear them before discarding them.
  • If a disposable mask or respirator gets wet or soiled, it should be thrown away. Continue not to wear a cover that is moist or unclean. It should be replaced with a dry, clean surface.

How effective are face masks in preventing COVID-19?

Learn how to apply face masks effectively and get answers to your queries regarding them.

Can wearing a face mask help reduce the spread of the coronavirus illness 2019 (COVID-19) virus? Unfortunately, yes. Face masks, when used in conjunction with other preventative measures such as vaccination, frequent handwashing, and physical separation, can help reduce the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Masks are recommended for the general population by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Whether or not you've been vaccinated, the CDC recommends wearing a well-fitted mask in public if you're in an area with many patients with COVID-19 in hospitals or new COVID-19 cases.

According to the CDC, you should use the most protective mask that fits well and is comfortable. Nonsurgical N95 respirators provide the best protection. KN95s and medical masks offer the next most significant degree of protection. Cloth masks offer a lower level of security. Surgical N95 masks, according to the CDC, should only be used by healthcare workers.

When you're in an area with many people with COVID-19 in the hospital and new COVID-19 cases, use a mask that gives the maximum protection if you have a compromised immune system or are at a higher risk of severe disease. When you're in an area with a reduced number of new COVID-19 cases and individuals with COVID-19 in a hospital, check with your healthcare practitioner to see if you need to wear a mask.

How to Maximize the Benefits of Your Mask

Cloth and medical masks may be made more effective by ensuring that they are correctly fitted to your face's contours to avoid air leaking around the edges.

No gaps should exist between the mask, nose, mouth, or chin. When you breathe out, you should feel warm air coming through the front of the mask. You shouldn't be able to feel air flowing out of the mask's edges.

Choose masks with flexible nose strips to prevent air from seeping through the top of the mask.

Masks provide more protection with many layers. Some people choose to wear a medical mask under their cotton masks. In that situation, the medical mask's edges should be pressed against the face using the fabric mask. Add layers only if they make it difficult to breathe or obstruct your eyes. Also, don't combine a KN95 or N95 with another mask.

If you wear a KN95 or N95, make sure it fits well and seals tightly on your face.

A child's mask should be created to fit correctly, particularly for children. Check that it fits comfortably over the nose, mouth, and chin.

How you use, store, and maintain your mask impacts how well it protects you. To put on and remove your mask, follow these steps:

  • Before and after putting on your face, wash or sterilize your hands.
  • Cover your lips, nose, and chin with your shirt.
  • Use ear loops or tie them behind your head. Make sure it's close to your face.
  • While wearing your mask, avoid touching it.
  • If you handle your cover by mistake, wash or sterilize your hands.
  • Replace your mask with a clean one if it becomes damp or filthy. Place the used cover in a sealable bag until it can be disposed of or washed.
  • Untie the mask or raise the ear loops to remove it without contacting the front of the cover or your face. The outside corners should be folded together.
  • After removing your mask, wash your hands promptly.
  • Washcloth masks in the washing machine or by hand regularly. (They may be washed in the same engine as ordinary laundry.) They may be dried in the dryer or hung outside in the sun.
  • After you've worn a disposable mask once, throw it away.

Masks should not be worn by anybody who has difficulty breathing, is unconscious, or is otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Children should not wear masks under the age of two. Face masks should not be used as a substitute for physical separation.
