  • Includes anti-fog spray for clear mask front
  • Made of recycled plastic
  • Doesn't fog up glasses (much)
  • Fun RGB lighting effects

  • Fans for added breathability Fans provide more air circulation and cooling, resulting in more comfort. Even without the fans, the Razer Zephyr is breathable.
  • Compatible with all headsizes Users may change the head strap to meet their size thanks to the adjustable dual head straps and silicone face seal that fits firmly over the mouth and nose.
  • Replaceable Filters All disposable filters should be replaced every 72 hours. If the filters have been exposed to high-risk situations (confined spaces with potentially dangerous particles) for an extended length of time, they should be changed as soon as feasible.
  • Complies with mask regulations The Razer Zephyr complies with mask mandates in the United States and the United Kingdom; however, please follow your local safety rules and mask standards, or contact your local public health authorities to determine if the device is legal to use in your area.
  • Water-resistant The Razer Zephyr is built to withstand tiny droplets of water, although it is not suggested for use in damp weather.
  • Long-lasting Battery When the Razer Zephyr's battery is set to Low Fan speed and the Chroma lights are turned off, it may last up to 8 hours.

Apocalypse Style

The Zephyr is packaged in a fabric bag with a few spare filters, a Razer-branded USB-C cable with plastic closures, and a 1-fluid-ounce bottle of anti-fog spray to spritz inside the mask. The mask is 7.25 ounces in weight and feels surprisingly light on the face.

Earloops, a raised silicon nose cover, and voice amplification technologies were all incorporated into the initial Project Hazel mask design. Sadly, none of these prototype concepts made it into the finished product.

All of the filters are held in place by a magnetic metal cover; the faceguard is likewise held in place by magnets, although it may be readily removed for washing. The ear loop fasteners are replaced with a dual-strap system. One loop of an elastic cable goes behind your neck, and an extension runs up and over the back of your head. The rubberized straps may be tightened with the aid of a drawstring fastening. The technique works, but if you wear glasses or need to get the mask on or off quickly, it may be inconvenient.

Three sets of disposable filters are included with each Zephyr. In some regions, Razer claims that the filters would last three days if they were used for eight hours each day; in others, it claims that they would last up to 72 hours. If you're not a heavy mask wearer, you can get several days out of them in either case. For $149.99, you receive 33 sets of filters and 99 days of protection with the Razer Zephyr Starter Pack. Razer also sells a 30 day set of 10 filters for $29.99 each.

Razer Face Mask Electronics

The face mask has a USB-C charging connector on the interior of its right side. A single charge should last eight hours if you don't use any lights and keep the fan on low. With the fan set to high, you can get three and a half hours of battery life.

To control the lights and check the battery level, you must pair the Zephyr with your Android or iOS phone over Bluetooth. You can control the fans using the app, but you don't need it to switch them on and off.

You may configure it to display a steady light, a pulsing pattern in two colours of your choice, or cycle through the 16.8 million colours available. The outer ring lights may simulate breathing, show a static colour, show all colours, or have a wave appearance in which the light ring swirls and changes hues continually. Set both the interior and exterior breathing options to the same colour for a great lighting effect; the pulsating option is also quite cool.

The Coolest Mask at CES

When Razer initially showed off their high-tech Zephyr mask at CES in 2021, it seemed like the ideal product for the dystopian hellscape life had turned into owing to COVID-19. And, to be honest, it appeared to be the type of vaporware product that would never see the light of day. Razer, on the other hand, moved rapidly to make the mask a reality, releasing the Zephyr in limited quantities last autumn and providing SPY with a device to test.

You might be interested in the futuristic Razer Zephyr mask, which is unlike anything we've ever seen, even whether you're suffering from pandemic fatigue or reside in a portion of the nation where life has already returned to normal.

The fan noise can be annoying, and you can only get it directly from Razer during limited online drops, but as long as masks are required in the future, the Zephyr is one of the most fascinating and high-tech versions available.

Benefits of the Razer Zephyr Mask

The two intake fans on top of the transparent faceguard are the first thing you'll notice. A silicone seal sits over your nose and mouth on the inside of the guard, providing a secure yet comfortable fit that prevents air from escaping.

Two straps secure the Zephyr to your face. One wraps around your head and the other around the back of your neck. Here's a photo of your author wearing the mask; like I mentioned, it makes a statement.

The distinctive dual fans are used for a variety of reasons. They filter the airflow actively so that you, the user, may breathe comfortably and safely. The Zephyr is unquestionably superior to traditional fabric masks in this aspect. The fans also keep you from sweating too much inside the mask, which is very useful given how thick it is. The Zephyr also has a very useful feature: a translucent covering that allows others to read your lips more easily.

This is a significant step forward in accessibility since it allows hard-of-hearing people to watch your lips move and better comprehend what you're saying. The customizable RGB LEDs on the filters add to this, shining into the mask for even greater clarity in low-light situations.

While you have to adapt the mask to fit your face, it is a significant improvement over a basic cotton mask. The fans assist in alleviating some of the discomfort that comes with wearing a mask for a long period of time. It's also a lifesaver for individuals who wear glasses, as the problem of fogging is virtually eliminated. For certain users, this may be worth it in and of itself.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Razer Zephyr Mask

While the Zephyr has several advantages, it also has some disadvantages. The mask's accompanying filters (two in the air chamber and one in the bottom chin part) only last for around eight hours before they need to be replaced.

The filters can only be purchased through Razer's website; a 10-set filter pack costs $29.99, which adds to the mask's $100 price tag. The silicone insert, as comfy as the mask was, put a bit too much pressure on the bridge of my nose. To address this issue, Razer could either offer different-sized inserts or provide them as part of a future upgrade.

When the fans are on full blast, they will annoy anyone around you, but if you're wearing the mask to walk into and out of businesses around town, it shouldn't be an issue. Furthermore, keeping the fans running all the time when the RGB lights are on depletes the battery quickly, so keep that in mind.

Finally, part of Razer's messaging on the Zephyr's efficacy has already been retracted. Razer deleted all references to "N95-grade" level filtration from their website in early January 2022 and later stressed that the mask is not intended to replace approved PPE.

The Zephyr wasn't intended to be worn by a medical practitioner, but the way Razer originally named the gadget is perplexing. This is a major setback for early adopters who purchased the mask in the anticipation of gaining a PPE-level product for the general public.

What is the best way to clean and maintain my Razer Zephyr?

With soap and water, gently wash the removable silicone face guard and straps. Rinse well and dry out of direct sunlight. Wipe the device's outer surfaces with a moist cloth. Wiping the device's inner plastic surface may harm the anti-fog layer, which prevents condensation during exhalation.

Razer, the gaming hardware company, developed the smart face mask that debuted at CES 2021 under the codename Project Hazel. The Razer Zephyr, which is currently being advertised as a wearable air purifier, is about as far away from gaming technology as you can get for $99.

Considering everything it offers, the mask is reasonably priced, and it looks nice in a post-apocalyptic cosplay sort of manner. The RGB illumination offers a splash of color, while the removable filters and integrated fans make it practical for regular use.

What is the purpose of the Razer Zephyr?

The Zephyr has a number of advantages, but the first thing you should do when wearing it is announce, "I'm Gotham's reckoning." Get it out of the way as soon as possible.

The Zephyr's silicone face gasket will keep the mask tight all the way around your face, so fogging won’t be an issue. The fan may be tuned to high, low, or off with a single tap.

You can use the Zephyr without the battery and still benefit from the filters' protection. However, using the fans during a walk is important because there is no ventilation otherwise, and moisture will build up inside the mask if you're even somewhat active.

Should I buy a Razer Zephyr Facemask?

The Razer Zephyr facemask is a head-mounted virtual reality display that provides an immersive experience. It is designed to be worn like a mask and it has been created for gamers. The VR headset has been designed for the ultimate gaming experience and it can be used with any PC game.

If you are looking for a high-quality facemask that will provide the best possible gaming experience, then you should definitely buy the Razer Zephyr.

The Bottom Line

Razer has been making gaming peripherals for a long time and their products are usually of high quality. The Razer facemask has been getting a lot of attention because it has a cool design and fans that improve breathability.. It is a mask designed for everyday use by people who don’t like ordinary masks.  It has all of the protection you want but also has some features that make it different from other headsets on the market.

The first thing to consider is the price tag. The Razer facemask isn’t cheap, but it delivers a lot of value when you compare it to other headsets on the market. This mask is designed specifically for people who value comfort and both comfort and fashion. The fans are a really good feature that distinguish it from the rest of the market.  If you value breathability, it’s really a top contender.

It is important to note that this facemask is not designed to be used as a medical device. It is intended to address the needs of everyday users, but some people may need something more protective. You can use it with disposable masks for some additional protection.

The Razer Zephyr face mask has its own design flaws, but it’s a fun and effective way to protect yourself. The best mask is always going to be the one you’re able to wear most often.  Razer’s fans and breathability make this facemask hard to beat for everyday comfort.

This product offers an interesting alternative to the more expensive facemasks on the market and provides a luxury experience.  It really does look good, too, and will probably end up being a collectors item because of its rarity and uniqueness.
